Good Friday Prosperity Ritual

A simple ritual I do every year to ensure prosperity and good fortune.

On Good Friday, I buy a chocolate bunny where it is placed on my altar and ritually blessed with prayers. Then, on Easter Sunday it is consumed to take into myself the qualities of being able to multiply the fruit of my good works.

My favorite prayer is as follows:

Just as Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes so that all were fed, so may my fortune increase so that all my needs are met. I ask this in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen."

In earlier times, I would break up the chocolate and share it with close friends and family but in recent years I've taken to buying them their own bunny and giving it to friends along with a blessing such as "And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein." (Genesis 9:7)

Mandrake Mojo to Enable Conception

Note: This working was written for a heterosexual female with a male partner who wishes to conceive. It can, however, be adapted for use by single women who wish to conceive by artificial insemination or by gay and lesbians couples using a surrogate or third partner in order to conceive a child.

When the moon is Full, on a piece of paper, write your name on a piece of paper seven-times. Turn the paper sideways and write your partner’s name seven times. In a circle around the two names, write your specific wish such as “birth of a healthy baby”. Anoint the paper with your vaginal fluids / menstrual blood and your partner’s semen.

Tie the paper around a mandrake root with red thread. Wind the thread towards yourself, as you make your prayer or petition to conceive. Anoint the root with Mandrake Oil and place it in a red mojo bag (for life) along with the following (each anointed with Mandrake Oil as well).

  • Angela Root (good health, females)
  • Flax Seed (protects children)
  • Rosemary (good luck in family affairs)
  • Southern John Root (prevents miscarriage)
  • Sacagawea Dollar (Native Female, carrying a baby)

Carry the mojo bag on you every day. Specifically, pin it to the inside of your underwear as close to your womb as possible. Anoint the mojo with Mandrake Oil once a week.

Finally, when the Moon is New / Waxing, light an orange candle dressed with Road-Opener Oil to prepare the way for your new child to come to you. Pray the 16th Psalm and pay special attention to the 11th verse which says “ show me the path of life.”

A Chant to Conquer Fear

Fear is a basic survival mechanism which takes the form of an emotional response to a perceived threat such as pain or the threat of danger. Fear often triggers a release of chemicals in the brain that cause an accelerated heart beat and shallow breathing also known as the fight or flight response.

“Locked in place, frozen in fear,
my heart is pounding in my ears;
with every single breath I make
and every single step I take
I shall my deepest fears now face
till it cannot dwell within this place
and my fear shall pass me by
in the blinking of an eye!”

Sample Reading: The Four Doors Spread

Question: Am I going to find a happy loving relationship?

The cards indicate that you recently ended a relationship (5 of Swords) perhaps within the last month or so. I get the sense here that this man was somewhat domineering (The Chariot) with his opinions and often hurt you with his words (whether intentional or not). There’s also an indication of possible infidelity.

Although you were having your problems, the break-up came as somewhat of a surprise to you (Death) and that you were deeply effected by it (10 of Swords) and now are dealing with feelings of betrayal and thoughts of self-pity. However, notice how the figure’s hand makes the sign of blessing? This break-up was probably a blessing in disguise because ultimately this was not the right person for you nor was it a healthy-relationship.

This period of self-doubt is only temporary; you have faced the worst and survived. Now with the future before you, you have the whole world in your hands (2 of wands). Wands relation to fire, now notice that this figure is standing between two wands (candles) and looking out over the ocean? Part of the rite of Spiritual Bathing consist of stepping backwards out of your bathtub and passing between two lit candles and disposing of a portion of your bath-water at a crossroads. I would recommend going forward that you perform a Spiritual Bath that consist of at least 2 forms of salt (table salt, sea salt, kosher salt, pickling salt, etc…) and a little of your own urine. This is done to cleanse yourself of the associations of the past (see links below for more information). By performing a spiritual bath, you are washing away the negativity of the past so that something positive can take its place.

Whereas Wands relate to fire, pentacles relate to material things (often money, but not always). The Six of Wands here is indicative of the attitude that you should adopt in your life. The cards are saying be generous with yourself, don’t look for someone else to give you happiness but create your own happiness. If you are a familiar with The Secret, you are aware that it is a philosophy that teaches “what you dwell on inwardly, you manifest outwardly”. This is a very old axiom shared by many spiritual traditions. Simply stated, you are seek to attract love, then be loving. Let your thoughts dwell on love, surround yourself with people and things that remind you of love, take time to indulge your senses with pleasure take in the beauty of a sunset, savor the deliciousness of chocolate, or whatever you like.

I foresee the appearance of man in your life who could represent a potential mate (King of Wands). I feel that you will meet him around the middle/end of summer. He has a commanding presence, is energetic, decisive, and a true-gentleman. I also get the sense that he is old-fashioned in the sense that he is the type to open doors for you, stand up when you leave the table, etc…some women see this as sexist so it will be important for you to understand that these are not signs that he thinks you are weak or need protecting but rather signs that he respects and cares for you.

I see this relationship will teach you about being in the moment, enjoying your experiences, taking risks (Page of Wands). This relationship will be spontaneous, lively, and enthusiastic. You will get the opportunity to see new things, and have experiences that will challenge you to step outside your comfort zone.

Using Divination to Interpret Dreams

Dream Interpretation: An Overview

There are three main schools of thought regarding dream interpretation. They are:
  1. Literal Interpretation
  2. Reversed Interpretation
  3. Symbolic Interpretation

Literal Interpretation

The literal approach views dreams as they are with little to no interpretation whatsoever. For example, if you dream of being in a car accident then you will be in a car accident; if you dream of receiving a letter
from an old friend, then you will receive a letter from an old friend.

Reversed Interpretation

In these cases dreams are interpreted as representing the opposite of the essence of the dream. For example, dream of a death and there will be a birth; dream of a wedding and there will be a divorce.

Symbolic Interpretation

This approach to dream interpretation holds that elements in a dream are symbolic of something else. Those who follow this approach often make use of dream books which assign meanings to various elements found in dreams. The meanings assigned to these elements often have no logical connection. For example, dream of a bedpan and it augurs a sudden rise in your fortune. Some dream books also assign numbers to the elements. For example, the number assigned to mirror is 953. Therefore if you dream of a mirror, it is a good idea to play that number in the lottery.

It is also possible to use divination to gain insight into a dream. In the example below I will share a dream that I recently had and perform a reading on what it means.

The Dream

I was back in my home town, moving into the first house I ever lived in on my own as an adult. A woman showed up to interview me for a book. As she talked to me I decided to take her down the street to the house I grew up in and we walked along the way. As we walked down the street I pointed out things that had changed since I had moved away. In my dream a gully had been transformed into a beautiful lake. As I walked down the street there was a little white house that had "Crystal Silence League Prayer Space" in red paint written on the front of it. We continued to speak as we walked down the road, people came out of their houses just to see me and wave. I got the feeling I was famous. A little further down the road there was a man selling crystals out of his home, we stopped in and shopped while we talked and I bought a crystal point. I know we talked the whole time, but I don't remember anything she said.

The Reading

This dream was sent to you by your Ancestors (Judgement) to be a wake up call and a gentle reminder that they are around you, they care about you, and they are genuinely interested in what is going on in your life as well as how they can assist you. Problems arise when you refuse to consider the dream's deeper meaning (The Hanged Man, reversed). This is a message that you cannot and should not ignore.

In order to have a positive, healthy relationship with them, there is often a give and take with the spirits and though your Ancestors are interested in you and your life, you have not reciprocated with them as you should have (Temperance). Notice how the Page of Cups is holding a cup and what appears to be a bowl? The Ancestors are asking for the offerings that you should be making in the first place, they want some of your time, your prayers, and your good thoughts.

Whereas you originally thought the message of this dream was an indication that you should return to the land of your birth, it was more about your Ancestors coming to you to remind you of their presence as evidenced by all the many people that came out to greet you as your "interviewer" walked the path with you. I suspect that the lady who interviewed you was a female-ancestor who was a facilitator and who has a special interest in you. My suggestion to you is that, in addition to making offerings and prayers at your Ancestral-Altar that you also include some kind of crystal on the altar for clarity.

Resolution

Since this reading, I have cleaned off my ancestor altar, and renewed my offerings. I have a quartz crystal point that I usually keep by my computer for clairity which I have transferred to my Ancestor Altar.

In addition, I found a 7 inch tall ceramic female figure in the thrift store a week ago Saturday and though I was intrigued by her I didn't purchase the figure. I returned to the thrift store the following Tuesday and she was still there. This time I purchased her, but really didn't know why.

After doing this reading and thinking about the dream some more, I now realize the figure resembles the woman in my dream who "interviewed" me. I have cleansed the figure with Chinese Wash and smoked her in incense and she now resides on my Ancestor Altar to represent this specific female ancestor. I am currently in the process of getting to know her and am trying to ascertain her name.

To Change Bad Luck to Good (Poem)

Lick you finger, cross your heart
tear a turkey bone apart;
close your finger, cross your eyes,
pluck a four leaf clover;
make a wish, cast a spell,
toss a penny in a well;
your bad luck will be over!

Prescriptive Rites: Case Study 4 (Lonely Guy)

Divination is the process of gaining information about the past, present, or future using certain objects and tools which may include but are not limited to Tarot Cards, Runes, Astrology, Playing Cards, and the use of Crystal Balls---these being the most popular modes of divination today. Using the Tarot, I will demonstrate how to give a simple four card reading and prescribe spell work based on the reading intended to address a person's issue or condition in a positive manner.

Case Study 4 (Lonely Guy)

"Lonely Guy" is a 24 year old heterosexual male. He describes himself as a shy, overweight, homebody. He has never been in a long-term relationship with a girl and would like to know why he can't meet eligible women.

The Reading (Tarot of Marseilles Deck)

  1. The Past: The 5 of Pentacles here is an outward symbol of your own internal feelings. Much like each individual pentacle is separated from one another, you feel separated from others. Hence, this is a card of loneliness, insecurity, and emotional numbness.
  2. The Present: Rather than a metaphor, the Hermit here is a literal description for who you are. There are hints here that your hermitage is largely self-imposed. Notice how the Hermit is looking at the pentacles? There are people that want to get in and there are people that you want to let in but for some reason you will not let them in.
  3. The Future: The Page of Swords is a young person of either gender, though here I suspect it is female. She is perceptive, insightful, and carries the sword of truth with which she cuts away lies. The Hermit is a seeker of truth, his lamp lights the way for wisdom---but here his back is turned on the Page of Swords (the truth bearer). The lie is that you've told yourself over and over again is that you are not worthy of love, the you're too fat to meet someone nice,  too unattractive, etc..The person represented by the Page of Swords isn't necessarily the girlfriend that you're looking for (though she could be) but rather someone who will help you accept the truth that you are worthy of love and happiness.
  4. The Outcome: The world is the best card in the deck. It represent lessons learned, the completion of a cycle and that you are ready for greater challenges. Here it is the promise of the relationship with a compatible female that you desire.
Spell Recommendation

I am not going to recommend a spell for you because I believe that your present state is a product of your negative thoughts about yourself. Simply stated 'what you think, you become'. Until you change your thoughts for the better no spell, ritual, or working will be successful for you. However, I will recommend a technique to help you change your thoughts and thereby help you begin to make positive changes in your life.  Science tells us that it takes 21 days to form new habits (which is interesting because The World is the 21st card in the Major Arcana).
  • For the next 21 days (at least) I want you to make an effort to consciously change your thoughts about yourself. First of all, every day when you get out of bed I want to you to tell yourself  "I am worthy of love. I deserve love. I attract love" Don't just say it once, say it over and over again throughout the day either out loud or silently to yourself.
  • In addition, each time you think a negative thought about yourself, I want you to stop mid-sentence and immediately replace that negative thought with a positive one. For instance, you might find yourself thinking "I am too fat to meet anyone" change that to "Girls find me irresistible and attractive".
  • Instead of focusing on things you don't like yourself, each day I want you to think about something that you do like about yourself  and keep a running list. It doesn't matter how big or small the trait is it could be your sense of humor, your handwriting, the color of your eyes, your sense of compassion for others, etc....
  • Some folks find it helpful to write their affirmations down because the added concentration it takes to write something down helps block out extraneous thoughts.
  • STOP referring to yourself as "Lonely Guy"! You think you're being cute or humorous but by giving yourself that name you are re-affirming those old thoughts and beliefs that you are not worthy of love. From now on I want you think of yourself as "Ridiculously Attractive Guy who Has to Beat Women off With a Stick".
Finally, I want you to check in with me in 30 days at no charge and we will see how you have progressed and re-visit your situation. If at that time we both feel that you have made progress in the right direction I will be happy to recommend a course of remediation for you.
