Sunday School: Elijah, the Ravens, & The Widow

Y'all get out your bibles and turn to 1st Kings Chapter 17. If you don't have a bible share with your neighbor. Now it came to pass that God spoke to Elijah and told him of a drought to come and instructed Elijah to go to a certain brook and drink of that brook and that ravens would feed him. And so it was that Elijah drank from the brook for many days and the ravens brought him bread and meat twice a day.

When the rain failed and the brook dried up, God instructed Elijah to go to the city of Zarephath where he had commanded a widow woman to feed him. Now the widow only had enough flour and oil for one more meal and didn't want to share it. However, Elijah the prophet instructed her to make a bread cake for him and then go back and make one for her and her son and that God will not let the flour and oil fail until he brings back the rain.

"And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah." -----1st Kings: 15-16

The lesson here is that GOD WILL PROVIDE. Whatever you are looking for today, whatever it is that you truly need, God will provide for you according to your faith! As it is Written so shall it be done. NAME it, PROCLAIM it, and and God makes it SO! In Jesus name. Amen!

Now I am not like those other preachers out there. I am not going to pass the collection plate today, nor am I going to ask you to send me any cash or checks because my church is built on a solid foundation. But I am going to ask you to spread this message, by liking it, by sharing it, and more importantly by LIVING it! And just like the Widow of Zarephath, I am going to ask you to help other folks where ever you can, in any way that you can.
